How to create a Multilingual Cloned Voice?

Multilingual Voice Cloning feature allows you to replicate your voice in multiple languages, enabling consistent and personalized audio content across diverse linguistic audiences.​

This feature allows you to clone your voice and generate speech in different language accents. For example, you can clone an English voice and use it for French content with a natural French accent.

It's particularly useful for businesses aiming to reach global audiences while preserving brand consistency.

Synthesys Multilingual Voice Cloning Video Tutorial


  1. From the Home page of Synthesys AI Studio, click on the “Voices” tab and then click the “Add A NEW VOICE” button on the right side of the screen and a new window will appear.

  1. Enter your voice name and select “Multilingual” for the language. Upload your voice files which should be in .wav or .mp3 format and maximum file size is 5MB. And then tick the consent box and click “Add” 

  1. Once the voice is successfully cloned, you will be directed to the editor page and the message “Voice Cloned Successfully” will appear.

You can now use your multilingual cloned voice to create voice overs in several supported languages.

  • To access your cloned voices, click on "Listen to more voices" and choose the "Custom" tab.
  • You can also find your custom voice by entering its name in the search bar.


Settings Available for your Custom Voice


The following custom voice settings become available once you enable the Advanced Editor.


  • Speed
  • Pause
  • Pitch 
  • Emotion
  • Langauge Boost 
  • Tone List

Speed

Speed refers to the rate at which the synthesized voice reads the text aloud.  Adjusting the speed controls how fast or slow the voice delivers the content.

  • From the HOME page, click on Start a New Project and click Generate Voice.

  • Select your Cloned Voice
  • Change Editor Mode to Advanced Editor

  • Add your Script
  • Select on the Sentence on where you want to change your speed
  • Select your desired speed.
  • Please note that you can only change the speed per sentence and you can select from 0.5x to 2x speed. 
  • In the sample below, the speed is set to 1.6 for the first sentence, based on my settings.

Pause

Pause  refers to short silences added during speech. These pauses help make the speech flow more naturally and sound more like human conversation.

Pauses are adjustable between sentences.

  • From the HOME page, click on Start a New Project and click Generate Voice.

  • Select your Cloned Voice
  • Change Editor Mode to Advanced Editor

  • Add Your Script
  • Select the sentence where you'd like to adjust the pause.
  • Choose your desired pause duration.
  • Please note, pauses can only be modified per sentence and you can select from 0 to 5 seconds of pause. 
  • In the example below, the pause is set to 3 seconds for both the first and second sentences, based on my settings.

Pitch

Pitch refers to the perceived highness or lowness of the voice. It affects the tone of the speech and can be adjusted to create different emotional effects or to suit specific preferences.

  • Higher pitch: Makes the voice sound more upbeat, energetic, or youthful.
  • Lower pitch: Gives the voice a deeper, calmer, or more serious tone.

  • From the HOME page, click on Start a New Project and click Generate Voice.

  • Select your Cloned Voice
  • Change Editor Mode to Advanced Editor

  • Add Your Script
  • Select the sentence where you'd like to adjust the Pitch. .
  • Choose your desired pitch 
  • Please note, Pitch can only be modified per sentence.
  • In the example below, the pause is set to -12 and +12 accordingly based on my settings.

Emotion

Emotion setting lets you change the mood of your custom voice. The voice can sound happy, sad, angry, excited, or calm while reading the text


Why it's useful:

  • Improves naturalness: Makes the voice sound more human-like and relatable.
  • Enhances communication: Helps convey the right mood or message tone.
  • Engages listeners: Especially helpful in storytelling, customer service, and e-learning.

  • From the HOME page, click on Start a New Project and click Generate Voice.

  • Select your Cloned Voice
  • Change Editor Mode to Advanced Editor

  • Add Your Script
  • Select the sentence where you'd like to adjust the Emotion.
  • Choose your desired emotion.
  • Please note, Emotion can only be modified per sentence.
  • In the example below, happy is selected for the first sentence and sad is selected for the second sentence.

Language Boost

Language Boost setting helps improve pronunciation and accent accuracy when your voice is speaking a different language than it was originally recorded in.

What it does:

  • Enhances clarity, diction, and intonation in the selected language
  • Makes the voice sound more native-like in that specific language
  • Useful when using a voice clone recorded in one language (e.g., English) to speak in another (e.g., French or Spanish)

For example: If your voice was cloned in English but you want it to speak in French, turning on Language Boost with French selected helps adjust the voice to sound more natural and fluent in French.


Here are the supported languages under Language Boost:

Arabic, Chinese, Dutch, English, French, German, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Turkish, Ukrainian, Vietnamese and Yue.


  • From the HOME page, click on Start a New Project and click Generate Voice.

  • Select your Cloned Voice
  • Change Editor Mode to Advanced Editor

  • Add Your Script
  • Select the sentence where you'd like to apply the Language Boost. 
  • Choose your desired Language from the dropdown list
  • Please note, Language can only be modified per sentence.
  • In the example below, French is selected for Language Boost.

Tone List

Tone List setting allows you to choose how the voice sounds in terms of style or attitude while reading the text.


What it does?

It allows you to adjust the pronunciation of specific words. For example, you can make sure "Nike" is pronounced as "Nai-kee."


Here’s the format:  [‘Text/(pronunciation)’.] 

For example:  [‘Nike/(Nai-kee)’.]  ['Pronounce(pruh-nowns)'.]

You can check the pronunciation through https://youglish.com/pronounce/


  • From the HOME page, click on Start a New Project and click Generate Voice.

  • Select your Cloned Voice
  • Change Editor Mode to Advanced Editor

  • Add Your Script
  • Add the word with the pronunciation under the Tone List text field
  • For example:  [‘Nike/(Nai-kee)’.]  ['Pronounce(pruh-nowns)'.]
  • You can check the pronunciation through https://youglish.com/pronounce/
